I grew up in the construction business with my Dad and our company, Mid State Site Development. I worked there after school, in the summers and whenever I could because I knew one day I wanted to be in the family business. You see if you are a Korner, then family means everything. We began racing as a family when my brother Noah and I were just starting school and except for a few years when I was preparing for my college education we always spent the weekends racing as a family.
I began racing again in 2015 and it was tough to adjust to the tricky Legends cars…but I plugged along trying to improve every time I raced. It was time to learn to balance my racing and education and towards the end of 2015 I began to improve.
This season it started to gel and my goal was to start to fight for Top 5’s and then podium finishes. In May of this year racing at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, my brother and I battled for the entire race nose to tail and I finished second beating a former World Champion to the checkered.
To date, that is a race that means the most to me.
At the start of 2017 we travelled to Charlotte, NC to race against the best in the Winter Heat Series and I recorded five straight Top 5 finishes. Now I am preparing for a 27 race schedule in an SK Lite Modified at the Stafford Motor Speedway.
None of this would happen without my Dad, I have all of the respect for him for all he’s done and try to make him my North Star as I live my life. With determination possibly one day I might achieve the same success…or more.
