Meet Glenn

Glenn Korner is not your typical racer…his aspirations are not to head to NASCAR, his goal is to prepare himself to be the best engineer he can be and enjoy his passion for racing on the short tracks around New England on weekends.

Glenn began racing quarter midgets when he was eight years old until he was 16, and then took a three year break to focus on his education, which means a great deal to the Canton, CT racer.

In high school he found an interest in engineering which led him to the University of Connecticut, where is currently a junior majoring in chemical engineering.

“I guess I have taken a different path then most racers,” said Glenn. “I wasn’t sure what direction my racing was headed so I took a few years off to get myself prepared for college…and I am so glad I did.”

Korner got back behind the wheel of his Mid State Motorsports racecar in 2015 after his brother began racing Legends cars. His progress has been steady and in 2016 had a banner year finishing third in the World in US Legends Car International Semi Pro Road Course final standings.

Keeping a balance of his racing, education and family is very important to the UCONN Engineering Dean’s List student.

“I love my racing and feel like I am rapidly improving but I like to be known as a multi-dimensional person,” added Korner. “My focus in school helps me with my focus on the racetrack and that has made me a much better racer…and the best is yet to come.”
